An Intercooler installed in the engine of your Integra will be of great benefit.  The intercooler will help to keep the Integra engine heat within limits.  With an Intercooler kit on your Integra, incoming air is cooled by either air-air or air-water means increasing the amount of air that goes into the cylinder.  The intercooler will also help cool the exhaust gases coming from your engine.  The exhaust gases from your engine are routed to the turbo providing the energy it needs to spin, but in addition to the energy the heat from the exhaust gases are also transferred to the turbo.  This added heat, if too high, can lead to problems and even damage your Integra.

There are two types of intercooler cooling systems, and each one has it's advantages and disadvantages for your Integra.  With an air-liquid intercooler in your Integra, the heat is transferred to a fluid, usually water, which transfers the heat to the air.  An air-liquid intercooler is generally heavier then the air-air intercoolers, due to the extra components needed for the system (pump, radiator, the fluid, and needed plumbing).  However the air-liquid intercoolers provides an advantage with the fact that it has smaller pipes and general intercooler length.  With less distance for the air and exhaust to travel, it helps provide a faster response time (lowering turbo lag) to your Integra, allowing peak boost faster then other intercooler designs.
